A - Aquatic - Rarely found away from standing or flowing water habitats. This is similar to Obligate (OBL) USDA wetland status described as "almost always a hydrophyte, rarely in uplands".
W - Wetland - Almost always in aquatic or wetland habitats, rarely in riparian or upland habitats. This is also similar to Obligate (OBL) USDA wetland status.
WR - Wetland Riparian - Occurs approximately equally in wetland and riparian habitats, but rarely in aquatic or upland habitats, and rarely in aquatic habitats. Similar to Facultative Wetland (FACW) USDA wetland status.
R - Riparian - Phreatophyte, sometimes occurring in wetlands but rarely in uplands and never in aquatic habitats. Similar to Facultative Wetland (FACW) USDA wetland status.
F - Facultative - Commonly occurs as either a hydrophyte or nonhydrophyte, occasionally in riparian habitats but never in aquatic habitats. Usually occurs in uplands. Similar to Facultative (FAC) and Facultative Upland (FACU) USDA wetland status.
U - Upland - Rarely occurs in wetland or riparian habitats, almost always in uplands and never in aquatic habitats. Like Upland (UPL) USDA wetland status.
